KAT. Being Resurrected?

Some of the weeks ago the one of the biggest torrent giant was taken down when it's alleged owner Artem Vaulin was arrested. Yes! We are talking about the kick ass torrents the #1 site of torrent in 2015.

Artem Vaulin the alleged owner the site after being arrested and the site being taken down the Clones and mirrors ran quickly to take the throne but despite their efforts these clone and mirrors lacked some functionality of the original kickass site. The users of the original sites complained heavily about the Mirrors and clones but the main issues of these sites were the lack of up-to-date content since the original kat was taken down with its top level domains like kat.cr katproxy.ph and others so a lot of latest content was also lost with it.

Resurrection?

Within a few days a new forum was launched at Katcr.co that is being supported by several high ranking moderators of the original site and in the following weeks thousands of members have returned back to the community and are planning to expand. The site started a fundraising campaign asking to money to repair the damages done and to rebuild the authentic KAT site code the team is now accepting donation through PayPal also through GOfundme Campaign and are hoping to collect some money in order to resurrect the original site with its content. Johnno23 is one of the moderators of the site and he had to say this.
This site we now inhabit is costing money: Money that a few individuals put up to ensure the survival of this Community. This is still not the Kat we all remember but on a daily basis it is getting closer.

Now the big question is still here. Will the site can resumed with the former download and upload functionality? this appears to be the long term goals of the community. In addition the guys at Torrent Freak spoke with Mr. Grooner aka the president and a long-term KAT-crew member and alos one of the top member of the site. Mr Grooner told them that many of the original site staffers have returned to the community but funds are needed to develop and maintain the site code. Mr Grooner also said.
At this stage, it very much depends on pending legal action and rulings in regards to the legality of torrents in the US. However the community can be reassured that in one way or another, KAT will return to its former glory.
While they are working hard another problem has rose up its that they can't revive the site with the original database because at one point users were clearly separated from the people who technically and financially supported the site that means people in charge of katcr.to dont have access to original site code and data .

In the ending Mr Gropner also said
Run those seedboxes and torrent clients 24/7 where possible. Just because uploading stopped at KAT we are all still pirates and we will always encourage uploading.
Update: The Gofundme campaign has been removed, we’ve asked the Katcr Team for more information and will add another update when we hear more.

Torrents. The Pirate Era

In this new age of digital communications one can always exchange information and data easily but is it Legal to do so?

Since the dawn of time people have exchanging information throughout the world by different methods. Whether in the ancient times it was by writing journals or in this new age where we can share any type of data by just a click of a button literally just a click is all we need.

Dawn of the Pirate Age

Many people might think Hey! the torrent came in 2000′s but that is not entirely true in fact the the pirate age begin way further back then back in the 80′s people shared information through decentralized websites like Usenet and after that the infamous Rise and Fall of the “Napster” one of the biggest music infringement in the history. after that people started to improvise a bit more and started to create some of the Decentralized and anonymous websites.
But Still that was not Enough because the hunger of sharing of information in people was overwhelming and they had to find a new “Anonymous” way of file sharing Hey! We don’t want Uncle Sam to know everything right.
Bram Cohen an American Programmer started working on a new P2P Network Protocol and after his excruciating hard work and lots of Sleepless nights he finally did it. He wrote the first “Bittorrent” Protocol in 2001 and that was it.

The Dawn of the Pirate Age. for a lot of people this was the best thing that happened but some people started to worry. these people were the content providers and the Producers because whenever they made something and released it on the market after a few days it was on some torrent sharing site for “FREE” people who spent night and day creating the best content they could just couldn’t handle it. If i was one of them i would probably feel the same way the thing they most hated was that the couldn’t do a damn thing about it nobody knew who made the sight and who’s uploading the content.
That was the rise of the internet “Pirates” and fall of content providers.

The End Of An Era

Now that we know how the Pirate of this new Digital age came into formation. But the Producers didn’t Hold back either they fought with all their might and landed a “Severe” Blow to the torrent community.
Some weeks back The Torrent GIANT “Kickasstorrents” was taken down when their alleged owner was arrested in Poland. The Big brother though they could kill the snake by cutting of its head. Again they were wrong when the first arrested the owner of “The Pirate Bay” back in 2015 They thought they had done some serious damage but after 7 weeks the pirate bay rose up from the ashes of dead servers and copyright law with the symbol of a “Phoenix” A Symbol of Resurrection. The Producers again were disappointed and started poking the The Big Brothers again to take action about this “Torrent” after kickass was taken down another blow to the torrent community was the Shutdown of the biggest torrent Search engines know as Torrentz was shut down we currently do not know whether it was due to copyright or some other reason we just know they had shutdown with now a beautiful message on thier homepage now.
Torrentz will always love you. Farewell.
This message broke the hearts of enthusiastic torrent community through out the world and hence marking an “End” of an era.
But Despite these efforts of the Law Enforcement Agencies the torrent community did not lose fight but are still fighting and after just two hours of taking down kickasstorrents its mirrors and clones started to take its place. Well you know What they say.
Cut Off One Head And Two More Shall Take Its Place.
